Midwest Mobile Entertainers Seminar a Huge Success!

Wichita, Kansas became the center for DJ activity in the Midwest when the first annual Midwest Mobile Entertainers Seminar was held at the Wichita Marriott on January 22-23, 2006.

Approximately 75 attendees representing 60 companies from 4 states came together to be educated, enlightened and entertained by nationally renown presenter and entertainer, the Gamemaster Scott Faver. Scott graciously spoke both days on topics including marketing, games, managing and entertaining at both corporate events and wedding receptions. Former Kansas City Disc Jockey Association president and former ADJA board member, Ron Ruth, shared information about the ADJA on Sunday and conducted a round table discussion on Monday. A representative from DigiGames also hosted an after-party Sunday night to display and demonstrate games including Jeopardy, Street Smarts and Family Feud.

Many supporters of the DJ community provided sponsorship and donations to make the event possible. Donor/Sponsors included the ADJA, Phil Uhlik Music, Complete Music, Ron Brown, American DJ, Denon DJ, Northern Light FX, Jewelsleeve, Sure Glow, Shure, Promo Only, TM Century, the Tux Shop, the Dallas DJ Convention, Mobile Beat, Disc Jockey News and others. Lucky winners received a variety of items including a projector, amplifiers, lights, speakers and a variety of electronics, passes, music, DJ wear and accessories.

Most importantly, the one year old Wichita chapter of 11 members was able to add four more members to its roster, increasing the membership of the WA2DJA to 15. Last year then-ADJA president, Peter Merry, aided in the formation of the Wichita chapter by traveling to Wichita and challenging DJ's to get involved.

In support of the Kansas City chapter, several Wichita members traveled to Kansas City January 29 to enjoy “Schtick Night” with the KCADJA.
